A Soul-Stirring Journey into Buganda History and the Nile! I recently visited the Ssezibwa Falls (Wankoba - Nakisunga) and the Source of the River Nile in March 2026, and it was hands-down the highlight of my time in Uganda. Because I was on a very tight schedule, I opted for a private tour with Emmkamp Tours, and they delivered a seamless, world-class experience. We set off from Kampala around 9:00 AM. The drive out into the countryside was stunning—lush green landscapes and a real feel for local life. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing deep insights into the rich history of the Buganda Kings who used to frequent Ssezibwa for meditation and spiritual healing. Standing by the falls, you can truly feel the ancient energy of the place. After a delicious lunch, we headed to Jinja to see the Source of the River Nile. It was a bucket-list moment; watching the water ripple where the world’s longest river begins is simply mesmerising. If you are short on time but want a deep dive into Uganda’s culture and natural beauty, I cannot recommend this private tour enough. It was worth every penny! Knowledgeable, friendly and service minded We asked for a one day tour in Kampala. They did not disappoint. We saw all the important sights, and afterwards got a tailored tour through the city just to see life in the famous capital of Uganda. They also willingly gave us a ordinary ride when we needed it, both for a very reasonable price. This company really knows how to give good service.

The itinerary was rich and diverse: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park (including game drives, a boat cruise, and the Top of the Falls), Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking and a local community visit, Queen Elizabeth National Park with a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi with island and lagoon boat rides and viewpoints, white-water rafting in Jinja, and CTC conservation projects. What really stood out was the flexibility. The tour was planned together according to my budget, and there were no hidden or additional costs at any stage. We managed to cover everything that was planned — and even added more along the way. Accommodation throughout the trip was comfortable and well organized, always including Wi-Fi and hot showers, and all meals were provided, which made logistics very easy. When we experienced a vehicle issue, it was handled professionally and without stress. The team arranged a quick fix or an alternative vehicle, and thanks to their strong network, I was able to continue activities with another group while the issue was resolved. Baluku was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive — and the overall service from EMMKAMP TOURS was reliable and well coordinated. I would absolutely recommend EMMKAMP TOURS to anyone looking to explore Uganda in a smooth, well-run, and enjoyable way.

Intensive yet expensive experience Extensive yet expensive experience, please be aware. You are paying around 3k euros for an hour with gorillas. Would I do it again? Probably not seeing the high price tag.
